Nick is from Parkville, MO. He attended Hesston College majoring in Business Administration and is currently attending and entering senior year at Harris-Stowe State University with a major in Business Administration where he converted to pitcher only. He and his team were back to back JUCCO region Champions. Nick loves to coach baseball. He started as an assistant coach at the age of 19 for the 12U Kansas City Riverhawks. He then landed his first job as a head coach at the age of 21 for the 16U Lansing Reds in Lansing Kansas. He spent the summer of 2017 as the Administrative Coordinator for the Ozzie Smiths Sports Academy, as well as one of the few lead instructors for the Annual Ozzie Smiths Baseball camps and also teaching private lessons. Nick offers private lessons at our Ellisville location and also at Harris Stowe.
Casey graduated from Eureka High School in 2004. Casey signed a letter of intent to pitch at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. In the fall of 2004 he earned team MVP of the fall World Series, and in the following spring Casey made his college debut against #1 ranked Tulane University and became the weekday starter, pitching against nationally ranked Mizzou, Arkansas State, Missouri State. He transferred home in the spring of 2006 to pitch and play first base for Meramec Community College in Kirkwood, MO. During the 2007 season Casey suffered a torn labrum ending his college career.
Ryan Brown has been with our academy for almost 20 years. He graduated from Webster Groves high school in 1994. He attended Culver-Stockton College on both athletic and academic scholarships. He was conference player of the week 3 times and in 1996 won the Hustle Award which was voted on by his teammates. In 1998 Ryan was instrumental in helping his team get to the NAIA College World Series. In 2009 Ryan was inducted into the Culver-Stockton College Hall Of Fame.
Before moving away to embark on his teaching and coaching career, Ryan played semi-professional baseball for the Fairview Heights Redbirds. Ryan has instructed individual baseball players from T-ball age to college age. He is the head coach of the Ozzie Smith’s Sports Academy 10U Wizards Baseball Club. From 2002-2004 Ryan was the President of the National Adult Baseball Association in St. Louis.
Since opening Ozzie Smith’s Sports Academy in 1990, David has taught over 30,000 students. David personally trains all of Ozzie’s instructors using a specific program designed to maximize each student’s potential. David has over 38 years of coaching and playing experience and he pride’s himself on teaching his students whatever is necessary to help them reach their potential. He stresses HARD WORK and DEDICATION to every aspect of each respective sport.
